The RT-40L features an adjustable shoulder harness and a 6' tow-line, as well as a reach-assist loop at the tail-end of the tube. The tube features a newly formulated water-base polyurethane coating has 300% more stretch than conventional rescue tubes on the market, greatly extending the service life of the tube. The tube also features an attached hook-and-loop for neat strap keeping when the tube is not in service.

2.When used with an unconscious person,the lifeguard should secure the rescue tube around the victim and use the cross chest method of swimming the person to shore. 

3.When needed, the rescue tube can be used without fastening it around the victim. 

However, when it is used in the same manner as a rescue can, the lifeguard must be aware that the victim may lose his grip on the rubber surface.
